My Heart Felt Apology for the Post About NFL Players Taking a Knee During the National Anthem

I want to offer my followers a heartfelt and sincere apology for the article I recently posted on this blog. One of my followers brought to my attention, through a comment, that the post had a very distasteful and off color comment in it that I missed.

There is, of course, no excuse for the distasteful comment to have gotten by me, however, in my defense. As I usually do, I was attempting to help out a fellow writer by giving them a wider audience and also helping my followers to sample a wider variety of content. So I shared one of their posts off their blog.

I was rushing and it completely slipped by me. To make matters worse, I quickly deleted the post from my blog, as a result, I also deleted the comment and the reader’s name so I can’t personally offer them my apology. But I am extremely grateful to them for bringing it to my attention. No, you’re correct, it isn’t the type of content I want on my site.

I try extremely hard to not post anything that is controversial or political to this blog, even during these “trying times”. It isn’t always easy, since I too have strong opinions on issues, but I don’t want this site to be a sounding board for my own opinions.

I want to share content that gets people thinking, opens communication and helps people in any way I can. I am so grateful for my followers and sharing thoughts with you that I don’t ever want to jeopardize that, nor do I want to offend anyone or hurt their feelings. It’s just not what I’m about.

So I would really appreciate your forgiveness on this mistake, I’d like to say it won’t happen again, but the truth is, I’m only a man so I make mistakes.

Thank you for your understanding.

      1. We are all human. And as writers it’s sometimes heard to find the right words, and the wrong one tumble out. But owning the mistake and being adult enough to apologize and make it right is huge. Blessings!

      2. Thank you very much for your kind words. This mistake really did bother me because I didn’t feel my readers deserve the disrespect of such language. Like I said I should’ve read the content over more careful before I shared it from the original writer’s site. They are an excellent writer so I didn’t really expect it. Your kind words made me feel better about it, thank you again and I hope you also have a blessed day.
